What did Yard Dog build in Kilgore, TX?
This Kilgore homeowner wanted one solid path tying the house to the back porch and to whatever they build next. Our crew laid a 90-foot flagstone walkway framed in chopped stone, planted two flower beds and lit both sides.
Jordan walks through the finished walkway in the first video. The second shows the crew compacting the base, mixing mortar and setting the borders.

Hey y'all, this is Jordan from Yard Dog. We're out here in Kilgore, Texas, today finishing up a flagstone walkway for a customer. It's 90 feet long. Let me show y'all. First we started off with our limestone base, then we moved on to the chopped stone borders and covered it in flagstone. And lastly, we finished up with our two flower beds, planting six azaleas. Our final touch was adding in their landscape lighting, running an electrical wire on the sides of the walkway all the way up to their back porch. Now the homeowner has a solid walkway that can connect to all their future projects. How we built it
Limestone base
The walkway starts on a crushed limestone base, spread with a track loader and compacted with a plate compactor.
Chopped stone borders
Border stones are shaped, mortared and set by hand down both sides of the path.
Flagstone
Flagstone fills the space between the borders, fit piece by piece.
Two azalea beds
Two new flower beds went in along the walkway with six azaleas.
Landscape lighting
Electrical wire runs along both sides of the walkway up to the back porch, with path lights along the way.
