White Oak is a small Gregg County town strung along US 80 between Longview and Gladewater. A lot of the yards in town are established lots under mature trees, with St. Augustine in the shade and Bermuda wherever the sun gets through. The ground runs sandy and drains well, which is good for roots and hard on anything that needs steady water. Outside town the lots get bigger, and so do the projects.
This year we built two of those bigger projects in White Oak: a raised boat and RV pad held by a pressure-treated timber wall, and a 475 square foot Cherokee flagstone patio built around a chopped stone fire pit. Being this close to the shop means we can walk a White Oak yard without a long haul and get back out quickly after a storm to check our work. Between the bigger builds, we handle the everyday work here too: mowing, hedges, leaf cleanup and bed refreshes.

What White Oak yards deal with
Shade from established trees
Many in-town White Oak lots sit under mature oaks and pines. Grass thins where the canopy closes in and hedges stretch toward the light, so shade decides most of what we recommend here.
Sandy ground that drains fast
White Oak soil runs sandy. New sod and beds root easily but dry out quickly, so watering and mulch matter more here than on heavier ground.
Room for bigger builds
Larger lots around town leave room for pads, patios and fire pits. Where the ground falls away, we build the grade up with a wall instead of setting stone on a slope.
Downspouts and flat spots
Even sandy yards hold water where downspouts dump at the foundation or the lot runs flat. A short drain run or a regrade usually solves it.

White Oak questions
Do you serve all of White Oak?
Yes. We work in town and on the larger lots around it, and White Oak is just a short drive west of our Longview base on US 80. If you're out between White Oak and Gladewater and not sure you're in range, send a quote request and we'll confirm.
What went into the boat and RV pad you built in White Oak?
We raised a level pad for parking a boat and RV, held the fill in place with a pressure-treated timber wall, laid drainage fabric and topped it with gravel. The fabric keeps the gravel from working down into the soil, and rain drains through the pad instead of pooling on it.
How much does a patio or retaining wall cost in White Oak?
Most patio and hardscape projects run $3,100 to $9,100, and most retaining walls run $3,000 to $19,000 depending on height and length. Size, stone choice and how much the ground has to be built up move the number. You get the exact price in writing after we walk the yard.
Do you only build projects in White Oak, or do you mow too?
Both. We mow, trim hedges and clean up leaves in White Oak, along with building patios, walls and drainage. Weekly mowing starts at $65 per visit for a typical yard, and larger lots are priced after a walkthrough.
